Array ( [sid] => 79321 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Corinne [time] => 2005-01-10 17:53:06 [hometext] => it's poem about a wonderful girl, who you know you've been looking for, yet havent found her. But, when you do, you gotta fight to keep her [bodytext] => I’d always thought she was a dime plus 99..lol
But, never thought to myself that I’d fall for her
It was on a summer day that I realized I started caring
But I was soon to leave and then what
I thought it'd be okay, because we hadn't been "we"
for awhile...I sat in my room and thought,
the timing sucks, its too soon, there isn’t enough time.
How do you put something you know is right
on hold?...how do you tell someone to wait a thousand miles away
for when waiting a thousand miles away turns to waiting a thousand days.
How do you control a heart from that distance? I thought I could.
I realized though, love doesn’t come to you and stay,
love comes to with a taste of what is, or may become. Just all the
sudden you know it. When you tell her good-bye
and she almost begins to cry. But, without effort those
tears would fade and wash away for each day that
pasted, each time I didn’t write, each time I didn’t call.
those tears dried on her eyes and started to fall off mine.
Was it a sign? Of course!
What was I getting myself into here? What was she doing there?
I thought it was cool, I thought we'd be straight,
But, then I saw her walking down the stairs with a glow and a smile
that words could not relate.
I fell all over again for her. I knew then and there that everything
was right because she was there and so was I.
that’s what had been missing,
the knowing that she still cared, the smile, the length of her hair,
the way she was to me, her eyes, it had to be.
But, the pain I never thought would happen came. That day she said,
It’s awkward, the day she couldn't give me a reason
Why or when. But that day she finally gave up on me.
I can’t blame her, but, if only for one night, I could
hold her lips close to mine, so she could realize
the passion she was leaving behind, that passion
I held onto so tight. This girl many who are close to me know.
If you don’t, her name is Corinne and I’m pretty sure I
Love her. If you can just let things go easily you know they weren’t meant
But, if you care and are willing to put up a fight, then something is right

This is very sweet and says much about love. (I have a niece by the same name, so it caught my eye.) It's long and needs division (stanzas?) but is beautifully sentimental. Cheers!
