Used to look forward to her call,
Talked for ages about this and that,
About local kids and annoying cats.

Her life was led through much pain,
Yet she only complained about the rain,
In all her time I don’t think she ever cried,
Though maybe briefly when Dad died.

I have much to thank her for, too late,
Not only was she my Mum but also mate,
She knew what was right and wrong,
Advised , never pushed, as life went along.

She wasn’t a heroine from a comic book,
But always won the day, whatever it took,
I now say thanks for the love and fun,
I miss all the days, I miss my Mum.
