On these plains and fields
where we all roam
a herd on the move
searching for a home
it's all that we know
is we stand alone.
Grazing in grass,
we look to the past
for a sign of the truth,
a moment to last
more than a moment,
but it's gone too fast
as we stare to the distance,
grazing in grass.
We're lost in the stampede,
last of a dying breed
isolated in ourselves,
not able to see
the mass by our sides,
brethren in creed,
charging into the future,
lost in the stampede.
We stand alone.
When we look at each other,
our humanity gone,
we see each other for who we are,
a circle to depend on,
and when the going gets tough,
we'll carry you on,
then you'll know,
when you're with the herd,
you're never alone. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 21 [informant] => CodyJ [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 18 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
