Passive and fleeting through chambers so grim
Bother him not these rippled realms
Craters of fate no more than a spot on his robe
And woe be the soul who did challenge his way

Fear of the night what be round each turn
His vision was always as clear as the day
Breakers on shore were but drops on the sand
Windows to things which crowds saw as walls

When courageous would balk at the sight on the hill
He smiled with a wink and leaped at the chance
To shame their ways to the gathering crowd
Then quickly did fade from masses view

As soon as he came from the road with no bag
People would gaze and shield their eyes
Not knowing his birth and blessings to share
Unkempt disarrayed and clothed in a shawl

Did anyone ask from whence he had come
Did anyone think of what gifts he might have
Did anyone say what was inside their mind
Did anyone stand at his side when the hour came

His leaving so soon left all without aid
The hindsight of the wise departed this time
Regret rampant through streets and halls
Hath that which was here abandoned us all?

I love how your poems are based in a sort of medievel era, it gives them a wonderful folk-lore vibe. I like how all your poems tell a story. Your use of language and imagery is fantastic as well! keep it up:)

Thankj you so very much for your comments. I do enjoy telling stories in whatever fashion as long as ther is something for the reader to glean and apply to their own life in a positive manner. As a dear freind of mine told me last night if you read one of my stories/poems it will last you for the day.....................douglas neil
