We met by the beach, as the sun dies down
We watched the sunset, with tears in our eyes
For we knew that tonight was our last
Why can’t we just forget our past
I look to you as you look to me
I say to you that I love you so much
As our tears fall, you hug me without question
I wish this hug would last forever
Though with my luck, it ends and you get up and leave
Without a word, you leave me on the sand
My tears still fall, when I break out in an overwhelming hurt
I hit the ground, and I cut my hand on a shell
I grab the shell to do what I know best
To cut myself to get rid of the feeling I know as hell
Deeper and deeper I cut into my wrists
Never will I live to feel the way I do right now
The pain goes away as I black out on the beach
I see your face, though I try to look away
Even as I lay unconscious, I can’t get away from you
For an instant, I feel your lips upon mine
True happiness is exactly what I feel
I awake from the dark as you hold me close
I feel helpless and extremely ashamed
I try to stand up to fall back to the ground
Without thought you reach for me and kiss my forehead
Your tears fall on my face and I cry as well
I find that my wrists are wrapped up in cloth
After a while, you lift me up and we walk to your car
You help me into the back, and you start driving
As much as I want to talk, I remain silent
I glance up to see you staring at me in your mirror
You hurriedly look away as if in trouble
As my tears still fall, I begin to sleep
I wake up to find that we have stopped in your driveway
Getting up, you open my door and help me inside
You bring me to the couch, and run for bandages
Little do I know, you are calling an ambulance to look at my cuts
You walk to the couch and sit beside me
You shake your head as if you had made me do this
I tell you that I did this because I was not always there for you
I say I’m sorry and leave you behind
As I walk home, I find a note in my pocket
A note saying that you love me and always will
But I tear it up and throw it to the street
I still can’t believe that we met, and you left
