No room to breathe.
I need to find the light
At the end of the tunnel.
The one to set me free.
Promises, that no one
Intends to keep,
A blast to my self-esteem
Knocks me off my feet.
Wandering, stumbling in the dark.
Felling with my hands,
I find a doorknob.
I think to myself, "Is this wise?"
It's so dark, I need to open my eyes.
I turn the knob, and the door does click.
I take a deep breath
Before I commit.
I push the door open.
And see a strange light.
How odd, I've stumbled into the night.
I look above me, and stars I do see.
I fall to my knees
And begin to weep.
A shadowy figure
Emerges from the brush.
And with tears in my eyes,
I look up.
I see sharp, blue eyes
Staring back at me,
With the face of
One of the most handsome
Men I have ever seen.
He says, "I'm glad you have come,
I've been waiting for you. I see you
Found the way,
Though it was not good and true."
He helps me to my feet
And his touch tingles my spine.
He grabs me by the hand,
And smiles saying,
"I'm glad you found the light." [comments] => 1 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 61 [informant] => dragonfly [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )
