Failure is indeed an intense time of great loneliness,
For there is no one else to shoulder the blame.
You have erred…hurting yourself as well as others,
Now you wrestle…with the resultant grief and shame.

Yet I see this occasion as an opportunity to grow personally,
A new strength of character…from failure can bring.
Irrespective of age…there are lessons in life to be learned,
From failure…great reward can also from the lesson spring.

For failure I believe is the garden bed of success,
From out of the darkened compost of failure new life can bloom.
We simply have to nurture our resolve and learn from the lessons,
And stand back in amazement…and give the new life room.

As rough pebbles buffeted in a rapidly flowing mountain stream,
We too will experience the turbulence…yet refined along the way.
If we can endure the often painful process of failure and loss,
A beautifully polished being…we can all emerge some day.

Failure is just the introduction…in life’s novel of victory,
We just need to endeavour…to get to the end of the book.
And for those that will deride and mock at our abject failure,
I simply say…we are being polished…then take another look.
