Resting in the palm of my hands,
My thoughts became undressed.
I bared an image in my mind
Of a child I kept repressed.

Tears of aching sorrow,
Unshed, but now they weep.
Sexual abuse, in years so young,
Suppressed, in mind so deep.

Haunted memories hidden
By faultless shame and sin.
Innocence lost, an empty shell,
A lost soul covered with skin.

Unbearable pain, confronted past,
Up-fronted child's shame.
The mind to heal, the grief of cause
Daddy is his name.

Oh my goodness. This was a very emotional poem. I was pulled in and tears came to my eyes. This is a great work , but I hope this isn't true. I think that to find out that someone who is supposed to love you hurts you, is not something a child should have to go through. Great job. Keep it up.

Sexual abuse and domestic violence are atrocities to human beings. I am so sorry this happened to you. Your poem is very expressive and well written.
