You expect it to happen a little bit in the back of your head
It’s happened many times before but you’re still surprised when it does.

A drink takes the edge off for a while then reinforces it.
Your brain tells your eyes to look at something and then it stops helping you focus
That’s when your locked into your thought.

Your life is *****.
All the problems that plaque your life melt into one
You can’t concentrate enough to remember what’s the worst.

The fuzzy colors of beer bottle labels in the glass door refrigerator keep your eye’s menially entertained while your brain replays your top 1 million life mistakes in no particular order.

Time stops, sound muffles, people die, and fetus breath their first breath all while you take another instinctual sip of your drink without looking at your glass.
Always keeping one hand on it so there’s no need to search.
People that smoke never really get to this stage

I start to think why am I not doing something great with the extra time I have from not eating while I’m on this diet.

With my dog looking up to see if I’m still there in the middle of the night I begin to feel even more miserable, knowing I have not been able to do the same in six years.

Then I wonder where is my mate, my keeper, my unconditional love. How come she has never come to me?

As I write this laying in bed the tablet bounces with every beat of my cholesterol ridden heart and I remember oh ya that’s why.

this is terribly sad and I do like it...i think that at least once in our lives we've all been in a place like this yearning for something yet not knowing quite how or even why we can't or don't have it...thanks for sharing this with us all...it's touched a cord in me...
