What happened to you then?
You went home broken, shattered and lonely
And made your way to bed
But the pills didn't numb you up
And the drinks didn't wash away the pain
Thats when you saw the razorblade
Its steel toothed smile gleaming in the dim light
You took it in your quaking hand
And split your skin, your innocence and your soul
The crimson blood flowed so silky smooth
Out of the canyon in your skin
You smelled and tasted your own blood
And cut yourself again

You woke up in the pail dawn light
Ypur head in a pounding rage
You started blurry eyed at your scars
Some of which still bleed
You wept when you thought of facing the world
And showing them what you had done
Deeper and deeper you sliped
Into a darker world of pain
You soul is black and your heart is clouded
No cure in a fist full of asprins
You stumbled down the stairs
Some coffie and some badages
On the table before school
A long sleeve shirt over your head
And your keys in your hand

You drove to school with one sore arm
And your hair was all a mess
Your friends saw a change in you
It wasn't for the best
People all turned and talked
As you stumbled by
No make-up for this girl today
No perfectly dry eyes
In english you took a pass
To the bathroom and the past
The metal monster in your pocket
Longs for some release
Blood fell on the floor
Mixing with your tears
You didn't hear the bell ring
Or the English teacher come in

The doctors said you weren't crazy
But your not so sure
Your parents wept and were ashamed
Their daughter was a cutter
The took away your razorblade
The outlet for your pain
They said it wasn't healthy
But you didn't care anymore
You didn't wanna feel
You took the shinning blade and ran
Out the office door
You ran through all the hallways
You burst through all the doors
"The final flight of Karen" you wept
Tripping past your class
Your friends came to see you
To watch you stumble and fall
You took up the razorblade
And slit across your throat
And so I watched you sleep there
Pooled in sorrow and blood

A true story?

Condolences, if so.

liked the title and how it was relevent the peice. It is such a shame that so many people self mutilate because they know no other outlet for their pain. That one was pretty good. I can relate, so it touched me.

I too loved the title. You write wonderfuly, wish I had some of your talent :O I certanily hope this wasn't based on a true story. Also I must tell I voted for your poem and gave you a five.
Hope that girl is fictional and didn't really die.
Keep writing.
