What of the lovers, their hearts content, Or the broken-hearted, passion spent Where go the feelings, once so strong, Down into tunnels, deep and long. Who can tell where all the words went, Poems and speeches on their long descent Unravelling, all, on the winds that clear, Worming deep into the silent ear. Deep, deep, deep go all these things, Down into tunnels where the darkness sings Honeycombed passages black as night, To await return to the warming light. The years go by and the world gives birth, Uncovering treasures from the cool, cool earth Casting back what it held so long, Life and love, and the Sirens' song.
