And she played her cd so much
She had forgotten what it was about
And what was once her medicine
Was no longer what she would need
To keep walking and continuing to succeed.

A certain song or a certain tune
Can only help you for so long
And she thought it would calm her forever
But all the comforting seemed to be gone
And now shes back home in her room again
But that’s not where she feels she belongs
The words are churning over in her head
If only she could recall the song.

Just as she felt like things could get no worse
Well you know that’s just what they did
And things are getting so damn heavy
That she almost wishes she still had the lid
That kept her inside herself
Instead of flying out of control
Like a single leaf blowing in the wind
Without any earth below to land on or settle.

She dreads the night
That she used to love more than the day
And she knows she cant control the pressure
No matter what she might say
To herself when she paces in her room in the night
And she cries to the sky
In gasping whispers that she breathes with all her might
That the burden will be gone
If only for an hour
But she knows that her words
Wont have any power.

You can see her surrendering to the worry day by day
And her face grows paler and paler with the hours
Till she wont have enough strength, or any more words to say
And she looses her soul
And her spirit fades to gray
And slowly but surely, shes slipping away.
