Among the shadows
darkness breathes
the devil takes my soul for ransom
a single light
pierces the night
like a razor
explosive and phantasmal
sharp to touch
deadly as sin
yet a tempting sacrifice it offers
a choking solace
embraces me
as I surrender
only awaiting another
