Array ( [sid] => 68167 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Apple Blossom Tears [time] => 2004-10-20 03:07:43 [hometext] => Inspired by a poem I read from a lady on here. For all those women who's partners are away fighting crazy wars [bodytext] => The wheel of fortune turned by a letter
Words bold yet cold glared on a printed page
Dreaded but expected , those orders from command
A mission into danger, risen by the call to arms

From the window of the train the last lingering kiss
To be comforting memory on long ghostly nights
Her eyes filled with darkness, she had waved farewell
Unable to stop the rain of sweet apple blossom tears

In a prison of his choosing her image always his faith
Through the hell of war he strode unphased
To his chest her picture closely pressed
His guarding angel with him as he crawled through the dust

He smiled now, closed his eyes, relaxed and at ease
The clattering of carriages did not disturb his mind
Nor the screeching of brakes at his journeys end
At last, reunited, he would feel his lover's arms

Sweet scent of perfume wafted on the breeze
Eyes met, the circle of love again complete
Hand raised slowly, tenderly, he gently touched her skin
To wipe away the sorrow of her apple blossom tears [comments] => 5 [counter] => 213 [topic] => 2 [informant] => puppy_dog_Eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

You made me cry. I totally appreciate you writing that! My husband is in the military and I hate being away from him. And these wars we are fighting are crazy! Stupid. And he had a dog tag made with my picture on it so I will always be on his heart.... I loved your poem. Thanks sweetness!
