Array ( [sid] => 67927 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Elusive Happiness [time] => 2004-10-18 13:19:40 [hometext] => This poem explains(for the most part) my personal experience with the aftermath of running from emotions. [bodytext] => I flew the coop, I was soo scared
on the night I knew you cared

That night I knew there was more to life
than swinging around a double bladed knife

No one knows the pain I feel
Wounds from the knife take too long to heal

I played the field, hurting none that deserved
but for the player, the true pain is reserved

For the player who plays the game
the pain he deals he feels the same

But I hid from truth, I hid from happiness
In my hiding I've left a mess

But I write this now because I've learned to feel
Even though I've hurt many and some will never heal

My life is changing, the games is done
I played forever but I never won

This late night I write this, thinking of you
to myself, your memory helps me be true

The words you said still fill my ears
What they meant still brings me to tears

I thank you for showing me the way
I can only hope to see you again someday

As I put away the knife
and welcome myself to a new life

In all the time I've spent with you
I've realized happiness may be true [comments] => 2 [counter] => 150 [topic] => 48 [informant] => crash [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Ah, a revelation! Wonderful!!

I really liked these lines
"I played the field, hurting none that deserved
but for the player, the true pain is reserved
For the player who plays the game
the pain he deals he feels the same"

You mastered this one, crash. Excellent write! Keep it up!!
