Head languishing on my pillow
As wind through window whispered
A quiet song of you
Heavy lids cascaded over
Forlorn and vacant eyes

Dark complected skin
Contrasts remarkably
Against light dress and lace wrap
Feet slide apart and come together
You pirouette, leap and glide
Dancing through my dreams

Closing distance
Sultry beckoning
You motion to me
Inviting me into your realm
I know slumber holds reign
Still senses are teased by aspiration

All night we danced
At times apart, across the room
Harmoniously in rhythm
Brought again together
So close ~ I felt
I breathed through you

Hours pass and sun returns
I rise refreshed and lonely
I hum a half remembered tune
As I sashay around my empty room
My eyes are drawn to the floor beside my bed

~ Where lace flutters in the morning air ~

Still as perfect as before... My heart flutters like the lace adorning your bedside... This IS Beauty. Magnificent rhythm, dazzling words... My caught breath slowly returns, and I am at bliss... I waltz with the music, I flow with the words...

Je souhaite seulement rester dans vos rêves pour toujours...

Another splendiferous submission, mon plus cher chasseur! I truly love this piece. These amber eyes will come across these enchanting words once more, and many more times to come... Many thanks for sharing. Eternally yours,

Votre Fleur de Amour

Nazzy,

Take a cigarette break!
Even if you don't smoke.

You are making everyone else's poetry
look really bad.

Except mine of course...

Dear Naz, how your poetry does take me away sometimes. I am amazed
at every read. More each time. This one, I especially found striking.
Your words flow so freely and beautifully.
And Mothy, I am deeply wounded.

Please forgive my delay in finding my way to this page to comment... I was busy running around NYC when you first posted this. Still though, I know I've ventured here since... and am unsure why I didn't comment earlier.

This... is beautiful, Scotty. I think the first and fourth stanzas are my favorites... because I can relate and because I dream similarly. Your conclusion might have left me feeling a tad melancholy... were it not for the hope distilled in that last italicized line. Lovely it is. *sigh*.

Wishing, really, that it didn't all slip away when the dawning of the sun,
