I could walk away
I could shut my eyes
Shut out this distruction
And bury the lies
I could forget you
Turn my back,
Not blaming myself
For the hope that you lack
I could,
But I won't
I could hurt you
Make you weep
There are a thousand ways
To kick someone when they're down
I could leave
Betray you
I could stare indifferently
Into your face
I could bear all your confessions
Then throw away your trust
You know,
I could really **** you up
I could,
But I won't
No
No
I will sit here still
And listen
Wait for you to open up
Staring into your mirror
Watching myself
Slowly decay
I can
And I will
Believe me when I say
I care about you
