It is now so quiet
We have been laid to rest
By the very source
That created us
So many sins…
We were melting in them
Nothing could stop us
We were far too ahead of ourselves
Mutilating every inch of greatness
That sought us out
He watched us from above
Fury leaking out of him
Fire exploding from the earth
Skin melting like wax
Embers flying through the air
Toxic fumes and explosions galore
Now just a day of silence left

Oh Summer.........your talent is so unique...thanking you so much for your lovely comments on my work. I'm just now getting back on line............sorry it took me so long to get back to you!
This poem is so different, and so memorable. I'll never forget the way you took the earth, and with your few words made one sit up and notice. Many days of silence left! Man has destroyed his own habitat! What a shame......not even wild animals do that
What a marvelous poem!
Warm hugs
consue
You are just loaded with talent! Keep writing, the more the you write the more chance it has to show itself!!!!

Summer, it is truly a tragedy the way we are killing the beautiful world we live on. Not only the world but each other. It is a sad state of affairs and I hate that the children have to inherit our chaos. Very good write.

such powerful words and heavy emotion in this poem. the images of the fire and the skin melting is great in creating a mental image which makes the poem that much more graphic and real. i love it so much and your other poems as well.....please keep it up!
