he took me there so long ago,
before our hearts knew winds would blow;
away the love we had to share,

windows of night opened for air,
remembering long ago kisses; pure bliss,
back in the day when we were young;
and to one another clung,

oh, so many seasons passed;
it is true nothing ever lasts?
mayhap it be; destiny was cast,

alas, i wrote of our candlelight flames,
softly into the universe; whispered his name,
wondering; is he still there?

if only all the trees could talk,
as along this life we walked; for
quietly breathing soft bittersweet sighs,
everynight as sure as a goodbye,

for on those magical benches we whispered,
before our hearts knew winds would blow;
back in the time when he was my beau,

so many seasons have gone by;
dare we now, breathe happy sighs?
turns out the limit is the sky.

oh, to meet in fairemount park,
kiss the years away within' the dark,
for upon each soul still lives a spark...

It so quickly starts feeling like he has been gone forever. I read this and tears fell from the ache for him and the love I still have and always will for him. I know you have the same aches within. This is a masterful piece. Thank you.

Much love,
Rita

Yeah, what everyone else said, and then some!
I like this, and it's unique, I think I would recognise this as one of yours. It has that quality and style.
Groovy.

Strange how the hand of fate works isnt it nessa? Who can know the outcome of life or love. All I know is that unless we keep trying, we might pass by a dream come true. I wish you both great luck and happiness my friend. (((Nessa)))

Remembering can be such loving and lonely bliss.........I really enjoyed this poem Nessa, for I too sometimes long and get forlorn.....but the past is past.....and so I try to move on, but it's wonderful to hear the same benches that spoke for you, speak to me also. And the trees.........O" yes the trees.....so wish they to could speak.........Or, on second thought, best they can't........continue to love alot! This was so heartwrenchingly wonderful!

Exquisite nessa. What can I say that others have not? This poem has a melancholic
feel, but at the same time is so touching. I applaud your work. You write with such superb flair.
