[title] => Our Love Now - Variations
[time] => 2002-11-06 09:00:00
[hometext] => This poem is based on 'Our Love Now' by Martyn Lowery. There is a twist in the narration of the verses... but its not hard to figure.
[bodytext] => You stare at me
With eyes so full of light Yet empty of emotion No tear bespangles your cheek Nor sweat your brow I stare at you And yet I feel no emotion, no love No adrenaline in my blood I do not cry - I cannot You have sucked the life from within me It makes it worse that you remain lifeless With no sign of regret or remorse It makes our love seem futile Even though it is no more Dead, like the last leaf of autumn It makes it harder to regret As it sit here remorseless That we ever loved at all That we ever had something Before it became ugly and dead I bathe my eyes in inclement brine Leaving it to run over my fire cheeks Washing away all my memories of you Rinsing your touch from my skin And leaving me broken and breathless I sit and watch you cry And it hurts so much to witness I want to hold you and comfort you But I can't, I daren't My pride holds me back I hate the way you act towards me I hate the fact I don't have you To hold, to love, to be For I am lost without you I am nothing I hate the way you act towards me I hate the fact I never had you I need you, I want you And I know, I know I could love you If only I could have you...
