Array ( [sid] => 6253 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Ribbon and Glue [time] => 2002-11-05 18:30:00 [hometext] => Do you remember as a child ever breaking an old, favorite toy, and you wanted mom or dad or grandma or somebody to fix it for you? But try as you might you couldn't find all the pieces... and they tried to tell you that they couldn't fix it for you... and, oh, the hysterics rained down...well, this poem is kind of like that... only on a more adult scale. [bodytext] => I hear that you can heal
My pitifully broken heart,
That has been damaged and stomped on,
Almost from the start,
I've heard, however,
That you need to have all the pieces,
But you see, I don't know where to find them all,
I've signed so many leases
For people to move in and out
And take parts of it with them,
So all the rooms of my heart are missing
Bits and pieces, the lights are all dim.
Someone told me that
If I just talked to you
You could find them all,
Paste them together with ribbon and glue,
And maybe make my heart look whole
Just one more time,
And maybe it could hold up from the strain
Of bearing the salt and brine
From my tear drops,
When I lose at love again,
It's so hard to trudge on through this life,
So hard to find a knight in the grim
Place that I find myself in,
But they say that you can lead me out,
I don't have all the pieces of my heart for you to fix,
But I have the shell, and the heart beat that just won't give out.
So can you fix it?
Can you let me feel love just one more time?
I can give you the ribbon and the glue,
Can you please fix this heart of mine??? [comments] => 4 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 21 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
