You no longer hold power over me
You opened my eyes and I broke free
I no longer hurt myself because you hurt me
I no longer cry because I miss what could have been
No one holds the knife anymore
No one makes me bleed behind closed doors
No one can make me wonder "what for?"
because I know that I can be more
You don't move the strings up and down
You can't make me smile or frown
I gave you my heart and that was wrong
because it's mine and mine alone
No one has the power to abuse my trust
I won't mistake another's love for lust
and I won't fall for promises shadowed by rust
nor will I give in to a liar's touch
I can stand on my own
I'm not scared to be alone
because all that you have shown
is that I'm better of moving on
