For my husband, and I bought
A gentle male malamute hybrid
My husband loved him, yes he did

Now, this puppy grew to tremendous size
And before he's gone, we want a prize
Puppy to carry on, so we
Could have him with us 'eternally'

We acquired a 'Princess' to be his mate
She grew up nicely, petite and sedate
So now it's two years down the line
King and Queen are doing fine

Three months ago they consumated
Then we anxiously awaited
The blessed birth of furry heirs
A week too early, but they were there!

First came a girl, next was a boy
We were finally getting our bundles of joy!
Seven more followed, to our delight
I'm telling ya folks, it was a long, long night!

Sadly, though, we lost one, two, three
Then two more and it devastated me
As I cradled each one after they died
Mom licked their face, I sat and cried

I know I'm a sap, I can't help it though
I looked so forward to watching them grow
We still have four and they make my heart smile
It makes getting up each day more worthwhile

A couple more weeks, then we'll let them go
But not without a nice price tag, you know
'Cause in our 'hood malamutes are rare
We made a pretty nice investment there

It'll make me sad when we let them go
A nice profit we're going to make off of them though
In a couple of months they will again mate
Then we'll have more puppies to anticipate!!

Just a note: I wanted to post a picture with this write of my
Puppies, but I didn't know if I could. I would
really like to so, could someone let me know?
Thanx

This was a sweet poem, having 4 dogs and 4 cats in the house, is a comedy central everyday. As for the picture getting placed on here, I know of three people off the top of my head who put on beautiful pictures with their poems, lovingcritters, rita, and jennik, all have mastered this.

thanks for sharing this one.

Chris

I love puppies andddddd the nice poems that go with them! I'd looove to see pics of them!
I had a "husky" and a mixed husky/collie they are the sweetest dogs! Malamutes are much bigger and need that room to grow! Hope you have great success in letting them go, to good families! Congrats and good luck!
Angel always...joni

If you can't post a pic, just e-mail it to Mick and he'll post it for you. He does it for me all the time. Right now he's busy..his dad is ill..so it may be awhile..but send it to him as an attachment at mick@your-poetry.com

Lovely poem by the way. We bred Irish setters once and I know the feeling...

Oh how lovely. I think you showed how you felt. Your not a sap. Loseing a pet is hard. I'm glade to know the rest are fine. Best of luck to you and the pups.
