and even though I do not look back I know he is there. The rhythm of his steps plays in my head , along with the sound of my rapidly, beating heart. He wears the crowd as camouflage, but his eyes cannot conceal from me, his evil, predatory complexion. At night I draw the blinds , and try to embrace the darkness and find some security. Outside though, the glow of his cigarette somehow burns through . I cannot escape him though, because I must sleep. He has made my dreams his natural habitat.
