[hometext] => I wrote this poem after a group of my friends and I watched the sun rise over the local park.
[bodytext] => Friends, huddled together By lake side, Waiting for the sun to rise. The cold night is warmed By our congeniality. Hot coffee, passed around To shaking hands, We share a blanket. Birds begin to chirp As darkness fades away. In anticipation, we wait For that giant ball to Creep up in the sky, Like a mother waits for a baby’s head To burst forth from the womb. And we are not disappointed As we sit together in awe And watch an equally wondrous miracle.
