Array ( [sid] => 58968 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Promise Me [time] => 2004-08-05 06:59:28 [hometext] => My gramother died on New Years Eve, 1999. She was the center of our family. I made a death bed promise to name my baby after her, and a promise made is a promise kept. I miss her but I have my little one....Hazel Louise. [bodytext] => She lived with joy
She cried tears of sorrow
Looking forward to tomorrow
Never regretting where she’s been
Only missing now and then
My Grandmother possessed a heart of gold
In her arms you were never cold
The time has come to say goodbye
To let her go, to let her fly
Heavy with child I lay there weeping
I looked upon her as she lay sleeping
She opens her eyes and beckons me near
Her whispered words I strain to hear
Granddaughter of mine you promise me this
You will do me a favor and honor a wish
When I pass this world please don’t cry
Look toward heaven, look to the sky
There is one more thing I want to say
Don’t think of me gone- I am just away
I will patiently wait for my family to come
To embrace again each and every one
I kissed her cheek and watched her go
The pain, the anguish no one can know
She left us quickly on New Years night
She left us all without a fight
Without her love to guide me true
What now am I supposed to do
Goodbye sweet Gram I love you dearly
Your love for us I see so clearly
On one long breath she closed her eyes
We reach out quickly for last goodbyes
Her soul took flight like that of doves
Into the arms of the Lord she loves
He called her home where she belongs
Now the angels sing her song

Beautiful write. Yes, death is saddening, we all lose a close one. But we all know it will happen to us. It hurts and makes pain. Just know she loved you and always will! Loved the write!
