A natural high everyone loves to feel
Like the joy of handing out a free hot meal
Lying in bed listening to the rain outside
Or watching little ones flying their kites
Laughing so hard it makes your face hurt
Or when nobody's around, letting out that burp
Finding money in pockets you thought you had spent
The expression on dad's face when his ear to you he lent
Smelling hot coffee someone else made for you
Or no matter your age, hearing mom say i love you
Feeding the birds and watching them fly
Or watching the ocean, what a natural high
The pictures your mom kept hidden away
The way your grandma smiled made your day
The sun soaking in deep, relaxing your soul
Or eating your favorite soup from your favorite bowl
If you close your eyes and dream real deep
That natural high your soul will keep
Take the time to do special things in life
You never know, this could be your last night
