Looked towards the heavens to view the same burnt skies
Pumped our bodies full of the same wretched poisons
Cried through the same torment filled eyes

I alone am damned to relentlessly be punished for the split second of my meek existence that I spent away from you
You took your jagged hate to a lifetime of horrific memories and cut right through

Now I’m here; your head in my lap, sitting in pools of your anguish because I wasn't there to stop your hand
My selfishness has left me with the remorse of being there for the beginning but forfeiting the end

Condemned to the hell of incessantly playing these morose images in my head for the rest of my days on this earth

Very dramatic piece. I liked this for the way it was written and the essence of "anguish". Very good write.

Bravo!

This is spellbinding from beginning to end.

I'm glad that you shared it with all of us.
