Life goes by at a quickened pace,
We run around from place to place.
Not bothering to stop and touch base,
With our loved ones, we just run the race.

Stop!

See the beauty that nature offers,
Glorious sunsets, mountain splendors.
Listen to the call of the Red Faced Warblers,
Smell the pine trees and the wild flowers.

Stop!

Tell your family how much you care,
Bow your head, close your eyes in prayer.
Settle grudges, relationships repair,
Don't let life catch you unaware. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 175 [topic] => 43 [informant] => gentledove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I'm being such a harsh critic today.. Somehow the "Stop!" kinda threw me off each time I read it coz both are followed by such gentle words, although I'm sure that's the effect you intended. But otherwise I like it, and I plan to take your words to heart.
