Brushes lightly past the conscious
Which elusive ideation
Struggles to be born?

Which fragment of truth?
Which puzzle piece
It's intriguing shape
Flits across the forming pattern?

Which whimsical supposition
So easily lost,
As difficult to grasp
As gathering clouds
In the palm of the hand?

Which abstraction claws
Toward the light
Stretching out its thin, frail, stalks
Grasping for a connection?

Which visualizations solidify
To become pictures in the mind
To form glimpses of the future
Of what is, or what might be?
And which possibilities, - or consequences
Are unleashed when a concept is born?

You so nicely described how a phase catches your mind and we (poets) all struggle to find other shapes that fit the phrase in order to form the idea we are seeking.

That was my nickname in the navy,
so when I came on-line back in '95,
I just resurrected it.*g*

I've never taken drugs, with the exception
of some hash at parties during my
university days. I even stopped that
because it was too much like smoking
cigerettes, which I had packed in
'cus I couldn't afford them while living
on a student's stipend.
