When I was just
A little peckerwood
I kept mostly to myself
But when Stoney 'n me
Reached puberty
Mr Hand became
Our steadfast friend
We're proud that
When we joined
The navy
We got to see a lot of action
Then, after getting married
The action sharply dropped
To the odd skirmish
Now, after many years
In the marriage trenches
We're simply peacekeepers
i.e., don't ask
and I won't have to say no
