Array ( [sid] => 54914 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => La Bandera(the flag) [time] => 2004-07-05 21:47:12 [hometext] => Over the years mexicans have lived in fear of the so called kidnappings that occur daily with no help from the mexican government people can not sleep safe in their own homes rich or poor these kidnappers don't care it has become a deadly trend in 2004 [bodytext] => These people cant take the gerth
from the country that gave them birth.
waiting for a hero with a cape,
while their country is being raped.
Amongst them you are considered poor,
but you still have to put that extra lock on your door.
down the street every stranger,
is considered danger.
sit and watch the news,
and how these stories arent few.
these people dont care about your color or race ,
if your family doesnt pay they will make u vanish with out a trace.
like when susan was walking alone,
and never made it home.
and nerves will devour,
when she's late an hour.
but her faith she can not pick,
her parents worried sick.
every minute checking for a dial tone,
while they both sit by the phone.
we want 100000 said the voice,
and the parents have no choice.
If the police are called she will be found dead,
wild thoughts are running through their heads.
The last phone call is usually rough,
when they realize the money isn't enough.
susan's found dead on a floor,
just cos she was poor.
cos the police wont do anything if there isn't money involved,
so the cases are never resolved.
but ooh if she had brains money it would have been resolved aint that funny?
money makes people walk and also talk.
it saved his life ,
to return home to his wife.
the flag on the pole will always stay,
but to most it has already flown away.
the government says it's sorry,
but do they even worry?
It's us
who they say make the big fuss.
they dont know how hard it is to withstand,
but when it happens to them they will understand.
To the political parties listen up:Take the coldest shower,
and do everything in your power.
To wash away the impurities,
of youre countrys insecurities.
cos you people know you wont get fired,
and your citizens are sick and tired.
wheres their money going?
cos the protection isnt showing.
cos they will take a stand ,
if their own government doesnt give a damn.

there have been many cases that are never solved, familes are constantly getting packages with the body parts of their kidnapped siblings and the mexican authorities say the try but somehow it's never enough.people feel unsafe walking down their own streets during day light cos they will take anybody they can get their hands on and when they find out ur poor they kill u and dump ur body somewhere for the cops to find

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
