Wouldve all been worth it if youd returned
Other girls just cant replace

But I try to hide my pain from you
Afraid that you might learn the truth

Too late now, too far apart
I miss you still, so very much
Longing for one simple touch
How I lost you, I dont know
It was so hard for me to let you go
If I had just one more chance,
Id hold you close, request one dance,
Id keep you warm all through the night
Promise youd always be treated right
But somehow I lost it all
Even now my tears still fall
Baby I just wish you knew
How much Im still in love with you
But theres nothing I can do
I feel so trapped, without you
My wings are clipped, I cannot fly
My river of hope is running dry
Youll be gone forever in only weeks

Oh, Steven - This is beautiful!!!! Wonderfully, wonderfully written... so quietly sincere and heartbreakingly honest. This piece really touched me - I can completely relate... my recent submissions are very similar. *sigh*
