Array ( [sid] => 53627 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => NeVeR [time] => 2004-06-25 04:55:06 [hometext] => I got stood up tonight. Yeah, by the guy I was gushing about. Sadly another heart-breaking moment to add to the list. [bodytext] => A smile never graced these lips
Or never stayed long enough to risk showing weakness
It left them cold and alone
And broke them with fake happiness.

The words were never whispered in these ears
Or never stayed long enough to risk losing need
It left them empty and abandoned
And chained them down with ruthless greed.

These hands were never graced with touch
Or never held for fear of being judged again
They were left grasping and reaching
And tied to a chair by another boyfriend.

This heart was left broken by lies
Or maybe it was never really honesty, until
It was pieced back together with super glue
And held up by my own stubborn will.

These legs never shook like earthquakes
Or maybe I was too busy to feel them
They were left there lifeless and withering
And given up on, left to steady themselves because of him.

This body was never more gorgeous
Or more beautiful or able
Then when he broke it to pieces
And found me violently unstable.

She never realized how much
She didnt need anyone elses distance
Cause everyone disappeared
And she allowed herself the chance. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 153 [topic] => 32 [informant] => xslashxprettyxskinx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I'm sorry that you got stood up, but I guess its his loss. This was a very good, but sad poem. I liked the 2nd to last stanza "and found me violently unstable" that hit me for some reason. I hope you are doing better now Lindsey.

*hugs Lindsey*

Oh, hon . . .

You are a wonderful, wonderful person and if he's too stupid to recognize that, like Joel said, it's his loss.

If you ever need to talk, you know how to find me :).

(Beautiful poem, btw.)
