My imagination stalks me with a bloody knife
My hands threaten to choke me while I sleep

My eardrums ring loudly in the sullen silence
My eyes play tricks and see you there
My mind wonders if you’ve come for me
My heart knows that you’ll never rescue me from my nightmares

I hear the sounds that you don’t hear
I see the faces you don’t see

I’m dying of the things I’ll never tell you

I came to read your poems because I was intriged by your screen name. Thought a name like that probably writes pretty well - and this one proves it. It is awesome.It's dark and funny, witty and wise. "My imagination stalks me with a bloody knife" is my favorite line..."my mind wanders if you've come for me" is another. Truly great write...so glad I looked!
