You ask me if I love you,
If I need you to be here.
You ask me if I want you,
If I'm happy when you're near.
And I don't know.

You tell me that you love me,
My heart steps back and says no.
I'm not ready for this,
But I don't want you to let go.

You tell me you need me,
I'm quick to argue the word.
You must be mistaken,
What you're saying is absurd.

You tell me you want me,
I'm flattered, but really...
Maybe you don't understand,
My past and present don't agree.

You ask me if I love you,
I just don't know.
I want to say yes,
But I don't want to rush into this.

You ask me if I need you,
Yes, yes I do...
But I can't let myself,
Feel too much for you.

You ask me if I want you,
Every day I do, you know that...
Hate to use the excuse but it's true,
I've been hurt before and I don't want that with you.

I don't know what I feel,
What I need or what I want.
I don't want to move forward with you,
But this is not where I want to stay.

Turning points make me crazy,
And you...you make my reasoning hazy.
What I know is that I am not ready for it to end this way,
I'm not ready for you to go away.
