its a sign of the times, its a matter of fact; when one can lead another and then turn his back. he left without a trace, no call or no speech, left her with a lesson learned that no school could ever teach.

she cries in the dark and smiles in the light, and paints a picture of a face that she's gonna hide....and nobody will ever see her pain.

she hears the people scream, and whistle and joke. when all she really wants is to light up her smoke...and drift away to a far and distant place.

there was a young man who wore his heart on his sleeve, stayed put in his place and didnt want to leave......but lonesome was the way of his walk.

he'd found love before but lost it over time, he'd come to grips with it but still it wasn't fine.....someday he'll find it once again and not let it go.

he's had the same friends since the age of ten, they knew all about him....at least what he told them.....but the scene was getting quite old.

he yearned for something more, something better and new, but how was he to find it content with nothing to do?

he has such a strong desire to give what he can, to the one he hopes to find, at least thats his plan.......and sail away down the river of forever after. I really like this poem. it reminds me of my boyfriend. I've had things like that happen to me before as well. but i've learned that you have to take the horrible things with you in order to have happiness. Trust me on this one, i've been through alot of crap. anyways, you did a good job on this write, i hope to see more from you.

i'll agree this was piece of work. and yes there are similarities in this to my life story (aka "a white trash christma"s turned soap oprea) oh by the way i'm the above mentioned boyfriend, though i'm not rightly sure how....
