I'm drinking coffee to keep me awake Though I'd rather be asleep So I could dream and break free From the morbid reality of this life I'd rather be anywhere than here I'm sick of seeing these same four walls Over and over and over again Why does it feel like such a chore To live in this cruel world? I don't understand why I'm here I work to live and live to work I'm missing friends and family That've been lost through this journey I want to feel like I belong here I can't put up with this insipid existence But I guess there's nothing I can do about it.

Good read. There's so much to do and be interested in that there's no excuse for being bored *except* when you're at work and can't do any of it! The workplace is run by people who think of us as machines and the only motivators they provide are the minimal necessary to get by and then complain when people aren't productive - well duh!
Schools train people to be droids for corporations, but not to be business owners - that has become the goal for school these days, except for in the arts. |
