[bodytext] => The Sweet Trap Of Decadence. Rain on a grave, lonely day, Washing the froth of decadence away, Standing cloistered, upon the soaked, green leaves, Waiting for the reincarnation of Adam & Eve. Perhaps, their spirits were enticed By the same pleasures they diced Upon on that day, many years ago, When the couple chose to explore; To endeavor, in hope of the highest culmination, And where the power of moral suppression Was put to the ultimate test. They failed the examination put forth, Therefore they inclined to choke Upon the belief of a single deity, Disregarding its indubitable piety. Perhaps, the noose set forth by the beast, Was devoured erroneously as a rare, jolly feast, When replete with accoutrements, alluding to past pleasures— The forbidden fruit, what more could match such treasure? Hence, is it fair to say the past is infertile? Is it not past pleasures that provoke the vile? Have ‘basic instincts’ declined to minor stages, Where entity would roam, devoid of cages That block the pathway to deliverance? Rain on a grave, lonely day, Watching the feeble trees sway, To whatever direction the wind blows, The feeble will always flow. -Thivanka [comments] => 1 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Thivanka [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )
