On the American coins we find the words engraved,
So visible…yet a highly inaccurate claim.
The Administration…as with most people in general,
Act without Divine consultation…or prayer in the main.

Never is God consulted…prior to important political decisions,
Politicians trust only their ilk…or the democratic process.
A trust and reliance in God is never a part of the equation,
When it comes to politics…a ‘trust in God’ could not count for less.

These poignant words on US coins are indeed Holy,
Yet in reality a misnomer…a contradiction in terms.
The chilling fact is in God…we do not trust,
And must bear the consequences this duly earns.

I have often asked the question of myself,
A Christian yes…yet in God do I really trust?
When I reach those critical times…and with critical decisions,
Will I remember and depend…on He whom is always just?

It seems to me our leaders should ask the same questions,
Look around our world…not hard to see the mess.
It is only for those who believe, rely and trust in Him,
That God will rightfully and promptly bless.

Our politicians lead us on ‘their own understandings’,
Seemingly oblivious to human fragility and flaws.
They are empowered to make critical decisions for us all,
Yet on these occasions…in God’s face they slam the doors.

Man is fallible…a fact we will not easily admit,
The world is as it is…because of this undeniable fact.
We should do more than scrawl a few pithy words on coins,
In our trust and reliance on God… we have to act.

awesome write.. so true... I just wish the american public understood God should be our real Leader. But we look to finite and falliable men to the salvation of our country. We must really get on our knees and pray for REVIVAL.
