Killings in the war for what America is worth
Bloodstains will only seek through the soil that’s red
As a soldier screaming is left to be dead
No real reason for people pleading to live
No real reason to take when you can always give

Fear overcomes a soldiers dying eyes
As he reaches out to touch the sky
Holding his friends hand sayin, "I don’t wanna die"
Starts to loose grip and the whole world seems to cry
Thinking to himself why the ?? is this my life?!
Knowing what he has to tell the mans two sons and wife

Sadness comes when all the plants begin to sprout
Looking at red where the soldiers took their rout
He wasn’t left to live but he was left to be at doubt
And all happiness once had will only slip into a drought
This ?? is never gonna be what life is all about
Because the way back in will never be the way back out

As if it was at innocence only his right to bleed
Over a greedy feeling that felt the need to concede
Crying and screaming until the blood makes him choke
******************** laughing like it’s some joke
Video taped for his wife, daughter, and sons to see
Murder not on the third, second, but the first degree

The clouds in the air will begin to only split
Shining on the lifeless is when the pain will hit
Teardrop drops towards the bottomless abyss
Stiff as a stone his emotions are nothing near bliss
And for those of you who only choose to ignore
Realize now that these are only the realities of war [comments] => 2 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 57 [informant] => coaster [notes] => (Edited by Mod_11 for strong language) [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )

OMG I got the chills now. The reality of war is extremely painful. I see this on the news every day. It makes me sick. War does not justify any means. *S* Cynthia

War is indeed a terribly wasteful and grievous thing. But I think it necessary sometimes. Only in such a messed-up world as this could such a terrible thing ever be a right course.

Very emotional and vivid. Well done.
