Sorry that I wasn't who you wanted me to be
So sorry that I couldn't be the man you needed

There were so many moments of special
And for that also, I'm sorry
Not for that which was shared
But that they weren't special enough

Once again, I am telling you this
There can be no peace in my heart
And time does not heal all wounds
Sorry that you haven't heard me at all

Perhaps your attention was elsewhere
Or you had a priority that couldn't be shared
That even after this...the life, the love
You just don't feel us or maybe not even care

So here it is, in cold hideous light
While I don't want to be the alone part of us
I'm not looking nor asking for your pity

Sorry that I couldn't be there

It's always hard to be on that end of a broken relationship. Somehow just in the time I have read your work and chatted with you, I doubt very much if you were the one that needed to apologize. Wishing you happiness, Mike.

people make mistakes.. we have to learn to forgive and forget... i know sometimes even if you are forgiven you still cant forgive yourself.. and knowing in your heart you made a poor decision can sometimes be the worse punishment of all
