Array ( [sid] => 47138 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => PRAYER ~ PART~TWO [time] => 2004-05-11 23:06:44 [hometext] => [bodytext] => Help me, Lord, to feel no jealousy for any
other nor to seek anything greedily for
myself, to praise You when another is
preferred over me and to bear to hear
others praised and myself forgotten
in Your presence.

Help me to know that in putting on the
heart of compassion, kindness, humility,
meekness and long-suffering, (Col.3, v.12),
I have put on the Heart of Jesus, and that
You, Lord, have taken the place of "self"
in me and that it is not an impossibility
to forgive, as You, Jesus, always forgive
because Your Heart is forgiveness and is
always recognized as the mark of the Lamb of God.

Help me, Dear Lord, to strive after the
higher experiences of the Christian life,
which are the deeper and gentler more Divine
and Heavenly graces, the virtues that You
first taught on earth and brought forth from
Heaven, those which are more distinctly
connected to Your Cross and the death of
self which are poverty of spirit, meekness,
humility and lowliness.

Help me to wear Your Heart, Lord,
not only in zeal for saving the lost,
but before all of my dealings with my
brethren,forbearing and forgiving all,
even as You forgive me, and let
each of my failures and my
shortcomings urge me to turn humbly and
meekly to You, the meek and lowly Lamb of God.

Lord, enthrone Yourself in my heart and
let Your humility and gentleness be one
of the streams of living water that
flows within me, to have the nothingness
in me that makes room for God, my Father,
to prove His power within me, that I may
be counted least and only seek, like You,
to be the server, the helper and the
comforter of others, even the lowest
and unworthiest, just so I may be worthy
of You, Lord, worthy to receive Your promises.

Let me look on every brother
or sister in my life who tries or vexes
me as God's means of grace for me that I
may grow in His gift of humility, let me
look on him of her as God's instrument
for my purification, for the humlity of
You to breathe within me and let me have
such faith in the all of God and the
nothing of self, that I may, in God's
power, seek only to serve my brothers
and sisters here on earth in love.

Lord, Your humility is the bloom and
beauty of holiness. Let me not be like
the Pharisee who gave thanks to You that
he was not like other men or as the publican
standing beside him, (Luke18, v.11) don't
let pride deceive me by letting myself get
in the way of Your work in me, and don't
let pride cause me to ever give myself the
glory for the work You do in me, may I
always give the glory to You, my Lord!
Remind me always, Father, that You are
all and that the power of perfect love
forgets itself and finds it's blessedness
in blessing others, in bearing with and
honoring them, however feeble they may be.

Where love enters, You enter, Heavenly
Father, and man becomes nothing before You,
he cannot be anything but humble before You
or toward his fellow-men. Your presence becomes
the covering under which the soul always dwells,
let my soul be the holy place of Your presence,
Lord, melt and mold it into a soul that forgets
it has anything other in it's life on earth but
You and Your glory, teach me to love and to be
worthy of Your love in my soul, teach me that
my humility must be the life of Christ, the
Lamb of God within me.
