[hometext] => This poem is about somebody that meant a lot to me and who I will never forget.
[bodytext] => Like a wave crashing all around me you arrived I started this trip not knowing what I would find A friend of a friend, never expected what I got Considering when we first talked we fought. You were a stranger, you weren't a friend I guess it turned out the same in the end I trusted you more than anyone else I think you knew me more than I knew myself I rushed home to tell you over the day what I'd done Tell you what had happened and about all the fun You talked to me like I was special and unique Not like I was just some sort of freak The warm days left and I confessed my love for you And to my surprise you said that you felt it too My heart soared, I swear I left the ground I did at least, until you ripped me back down Event after event, lie after lie I can't believe you made me cry I never met you, never saw your face And yet you reside in my heart in a special place My heart was torn time and time again All because you wanted to remain just my friend Your happiness meant so much to me That I decided I wasn't meant to be free Then I read the two words that changed it all Those two words that caused my greatest fall "I'm dying," you wrote, "that's why I can't meet you right now I want to so much, but I'm just not allowed." I gave you your choices right then and there I couldn't, I wouldn't allow myself to care "Meet me or go" were the words that I typed All they were followed with was one big fight We ranted and raved, said things that cannot be taken back I think that was when the hole surpassed a mere crack It ended soon after, I couldn't take it anymore So I sent you a letter that hurt you to the core You went through what I did, became bitter and cold Well at least you won't have to look back on this when you're old I have to hold you until the day that I die I have to think of you every moment and try not to cry I miss you so much, I wish that you cared Or maybe you do and you're just scared There are no memories to hold, to cherish, to savor Only those you don't really like get to know your flavor You won't be around when I need you the most How can you be when you won't let yourself get close? I need things palpable, I need to see But what I really need is you here with me...
