If you looked in to my heart what would you see?
If you took the time what would you find?
If you really looked deep
REALLY DEEP
You would see a lot
A lot people dont want to see
Lots of pain
Disappointments
Anger
Fear, distrust heartbreak
Pain for years of abuse
Words hit as hard as fists
Trust me I know
People have taken advantage of me
Fists, bottles, belts, shoes
Spoons hurt
If I cried I almost died
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
If you looked into my eyes what would you see?
If you took the time what could you find
A simple glance is all you need
Failure, pain, sorrow
That I cant let go of
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
Pain from a death
A death of a child
It was my fault
Or, so says my family
My eyes show so much
Lost of innocence
It was my fault
No one can prove me other wise
Pain hurts!
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
Why did you stick by me all this time?
As I poured out my heart to you
I want to cry
But the tears are bye-bye
No more pain
No more tears
The cork is almost about to come off the bottle
The bottle is almost full
Happiness when you are sad
Hyperness when you are depressed
Is nothing new
If you looked to my heart right now
You would see a locked door
If you looked in my eyes you tell me!

this must have been painful to write.. but it's very good.. the line "Words hit as hard as fists" really stood out to me.. good poem..

I am so sorry lil angel for all your pain, emotionally and physically. You must learn to forgive yourself if you do feel responsible and hope eventually others will see the truth. Don't let people destroy your will because of a supposed mistake.

Great poem. I completely agree with you. There are sooo many people who are wearing masks. If only more of us looked deeper instead of just on the surface. Beautiful and strong poem. Nice work.
