I hear voices in my head,
They command me toward the sharp objects, from my bed.
But no sharp objects upon this padded room,
No fun toys to play with.

They call me crazy,
Diagnosed me with complicated names that don’t mean a thing.
Like schizophrenia, and something with a hippopotamus ring.
They all mean nothing,
But they wont find,

The body of that dead mime.
I’M really the sane one,
And they are all crazy.
I don’t belong in here,
This punishment is zany!

The screaming in the night,
Coming from the room to the right,
And left of mine.
And from my room I see
Things, that don’t belong to me.
Like that dancing key.

The elephants come in
And give me pills to swallow.
“They’ll help calm you down, they say.
With their big pink ears waving in the breeze.
They’re really trying to get me through,
I never swallow the pills.
I won’t let their poison enter me.

I’ll devise a plan.
To get the big red lobster man,
First I‘ll chop off his hand with an axe!
I don’t like him very much.
When he tries to put another needle in me,
That’s when I’ll get him.
But the rest of them are fine.
All I have to do is put them in the rooms,
Give them medication.
Because they are all the crazy ones,
NOT ME!

Wow!!

This was quite humorous, yet meaningful.
I loved how this had a serious tone, but had hint of sarcasm,

"Like schizophrenia, and something with a hippopotamus ring."

^that made me laugh...

well... I am incredibly happy to see you joining us here at YPDC, and I am truly assured that no one here will find your writes a disappointment. I really enjoyed this one, and am looking forward to the next.

Now that is a unique write. Slightly funny, in an offbeat way, slightly sad in a zany way, and slightly weird in a sad way. I would also like to welcome you to the site. I will look forward to more of your work.
