How bad you made me feel.
How can I get through this pain?
How can I begin to heal?

How can I tell you?
How much shame you made me feel.
Even now, 12 years on,
Things are still a big deal.

I hate you, I loathe you.
I despise everything about you.
How I'd love to kill you.
And make you suffer, like I have too.

These scars I have,
To show the internal pain,
To remind me of the memories.
Just exactly what did you gain?

You marked me with your evil.
I thought you had cursed me.
No-one could ever love me.
How could that be?

On that unforgettable day,
The confusion set in.
I was 4 years old.
I felt I belonged in the bin.

I hope you feel guilty,
Like I did for years.
Now I see I was wrong,
Youre not worth my tears.

I am moving on,
Youre still the same.
I will live my life,
You can wallow in shame. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 21 [informant] => diamond_tears [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I can't believe more people haven't commented on this poem.... It is very well written and extremely powerful. Thank you for sharing this - I am very moved by it. I am, regardless of whether the subject matter is light or dark, always appreciative of someone's willingness to "go there". It's good therapy for the poet, I think... and truly, an honor for the reader to have been given a glimpse inside.
