Dont they see that its impossible?
They said be lovely
I said no
They said dont speak!
They said show us your smile

Ill take the pliers
One by one, pull out my white, pretty teeth
Ill smile, only red, strawberry gashes in my gums
Am I lovely now?
They said be beautiful
I said no
Ill take the knife
Slice open my pale, pretty skin
Watch the blood flow freely
Am I lovely now?
They said be pretty
I said no
Stick my finger down my throat
Vomit up all my pride, my dignity
Just to be good enough for them
Am I lovely now?

WOW.. this has completely taken my breath away.. what an INCREDIBLE poem.. (note my use of capitals - i dont use them lightheartedly lol).. i was soo gonna swear then.. but i wont.. this is so damn good.. i have to check out more of your stuff!!!!

I can relate a bit. I know that doesn't really console you or anything, but it's a comment. This is a very powerfully descriptive poem. I love the way you've expressed yourself. Bravo!!! Encore!!!!!!!
