Array ( [sid] => 45820 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Amy [time] => 2004-05-02 03:10:07 [hometext] => I wrote this when I found out my 14 year old niece was prenant and this was what ran through my head. I fear everyday for her that she will end up like Amy. [bodytext] =>
She was fourteen her name was Amy
Everything she did made him angry
She did nothing right everything wrong
She tried to fight back but he was to strong
He broke her leg and busted her lip
Amy's learning to walk with her new hip
Now here she sits holding his child
Never getting to have fun or be wild
Her kids grows up with anger and fear
Watching daddy hit mommy cause she didn't hear
Ten years later she is now twenty-four
He beats her relentlessly calling her a whore
She smiled at the bagger to show her thanks
She lays on the floor as her child he spanks
A puddle of blood surrounds her head
Her ten year old screams out "My mommy is dead" [comments] => 4 [counter] => 202 [topic] => 32 [informant] => kellysue020780 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

One of the most heartbreaking poems I have ever read. Incredibly sad and full of emotion but still has a very good structure. Amazing.
