Like a star shining through the night
It shone brightly before me
And I followed faithfully
But then one fateful day
I did lose my way
And I fell prey to the night
I lost my life and my sight

Now as I sit here
In shades of black and grey, I fear
The drawing near of the day
To rise above, then fall away
O Love, where were You
When I needed You the most, to
Hold me close, through the night
In Your arms, so safe, so tight

I slit my wrist on the knife
Stand on the edge of this life
Driven to the point of desperation
Can You hear me now?
Now the borders are crossed
And I scream, and I cry
In desperation

All I wanted was You
I was addicted to the love I knew
It hurt so much when You were gone
It hurt to admit that I was wrong
I knew something had to give
Someone had to die for me to live
But please forgive me for thinking
I had to bleed to stop me sinking

I slit my wrist on the knife
Stand on the edge of this life
Driven to the point of desperation
Can You hear me now?
Now the borders are crossed
And I scream, and I cry
In desperation

I slit my wrist on the knife
Stand on the edge of this life
Driven to the point of desperation
Can You hear me now?
Now the borders are crossed
And I scream, and I cry
In desperation

How very painful it is to be away from the Lord! Painful poem. I'm glad that you are past all of that now.
